Deforestation incremental vectors

The incremental vectors file is the primary deliverable for understanding what changed in a given observation cycle. It contains two layers: the observed_area layer (where valid SAR coverage exists for this observation) and the incremental_deforestation layer (net-new change detected since the prior comparable state).

The observed area layer is critical for correct interpretation. An empty incremental deforestation layer alongside a populated observed area explicitly means the area was monitored and no new deforestation was found — not that monitoring did not occur.

Layer: observed_area
Defines where the system had valid SAR coverage for this observation. Always review this layer first when interpreting any delivery.

Layer: incremental_deforestation
Net-new deforestation polygons detected since the prior comparable state. This layer will be empty if no new deforestation was detected within the observed area.
