Building Damage Classification
File format: Geopackage (.gpkg) CRS: EPSG:4326
| Attribute | Description |
|---|---|
id |
ICEYE unique identifier for the building record within the analysis. |
damage |
Binary flag classifying the structure as damaged (1) or undamaged (0). |
damage_frac |
Fraction of pixels within the building footprint above the damage threshold. |
damage_threshold |
The intensity threshold used to determine whether a pixel is considered as damaged. |
max_val |
Maximum intensity detected within the building footprint. |
pix_dmg |
Number of pixels within the building footprint exceeding the damage threshold. |
pix_valid_total |
Total number of pixels contained within the building footprint. |
Additionally, the following building identifier fields are included for cross-reference purposes:
| USA | Japan | |
|---|---|---|
| Building footprint provider | Precisely | GSI |
vendor_building_footprint_id |
maps to Precisely's BLDGID field, a unique building identifier | corresponds to gml_id, a unique identifier for the building following the Geography Markup Language (GML) standard |
vendor_address_id |
maps to Precisely's PBKEY, the PreciselyID corresponding to a unique addressable location | null |
vendor_address_detail_id |
maps to Precisely's ADDR_ID field, an address identifier | null |
Raster Damage Heatmap
File format: Raster (.tif) Resolution: 1.5m CRS: EPSG:4326
Cell values: {1-255, 0: No data} Values greater than 0 represent regions of significant change, and in total represent the areas that have undergone the most intense change (by percentile) observed by differencing the pre-post image scenes. Within this range, higher numbers represent more significant changes as a result of the event.
Small damages, such as damage to individual shingles or cracks in the roof are not likely to be detected.
Vector Hexgrid Impact Heatmap
File format: Geopackage (.gpkg) Resolution: H3 Level 8 (0.74 km², or about the size of a large city park) CRS:EPSG:4326
| Attribute | Description |
|---|---|
h3_index |
unique H3 cell identifier (level 8) |
damage_pct |
percentage of buildings within the hex grid classified as "damaged" |
damaged_buildings |
count of buildings classified as "damaged" within the hex grid |
total_buildings |
total number of buildings (damaged + undamaged) contained with the hex grid |
Vector Release Notes

Fire Building Damage Assessment (BDA)
File format: Geopackage (.gpkg) CRS: EPSG:4326
damage(integer) {0,1}: binary classification of whether a building has been deemed likely destroyed (1) or likely not destroyed (0)change(string or NULL): Tracks damage status changes between releases. Only available in the USA; available in Japan from May 2026. Possible values:- "no change" - damage status unchanged
- "changed from undamaged" - building became damaged
- "changed from damaged" - building became undamaged
- "new observation" - building newly observed within existing perimeter
- "added to perimeter" - building in expanded perimeter area
- NULL - when only one acquisition is provided (R1 release only)
