(HRI/CRI) Coverage of wind events

🇺🇸 US only:
ICEYE's aim is to provide product coverage for the whole hurricane force wind swath of landfalling hurricanes. While it is not possible to know the exact wind swath prior to the storm taking place, ICEYE is committed to providing coverage extending at least 50 miles inland from the landfall location, with the goal of covering up to 100 miles inland whenever possible.

In ICEYE's experience, this extent of coverage provides insight for a significant proportion of the hurricane swath, as demonstrated in Hurricanes Helene and Milton where ICEYE ultimately covered over 22,000 sq mi and 15,000 sq mi respectively. In the case of an extremely large event where prioritization may be required, it will be given to areas with the greatest population densities.

As a preparedness measure, ICEYE pre-images the entire high risk hurricane region of the USA on a monthly basis prior to, and during cyclone season, to ensure the ability to respond to new hurricane events as they happen.

🇦🇺 Australia only:
ICEYE's aim is to provide product coverage for the whole cyclone force wind swath of landfalling cyclones. While it is not possible to know the exact wind swath prior to the storm taking place, ICEYE is committed to providing coverage extending at least 100km inland from the landfall location, with the goal of covering up to 200km inland whenever possible. In ICEYE's experience, this extent of coverage provides insight for a significant proportion of the Cyclone swath. In the case of an extremely large event where prioritisation may be required, it will be given to areas with the greatest population densities.

As a preparedness measure, ICEYE pre-images the entire high risk cyclone region of the Australian coastline on a monthly basis prior to, and during cyclone season, to ensure the ability to respond to new cyclone events as they happen.
