(ISS) FAQ
When is Area Intelligence data updated?
Shortly after each Flood Insights or Hurricane Rapid Impact release in the supported geographies. There may be a few minute delay between peril product availability and Area Intelligence as it processes.
Why don’t I see Area Intelligence for an event?
Area Intelligence appears when: your account has access to Area Intelligence, the event is in a supported geography (US or Japan), it occurred after 20 October 2025, and at least one Flood Insights or Hurricane Rapid Impact release is available.
What does “impacted building” mean in Area Intelligence?
An impacted building is one where Flood Insights indicates flood depth above 0 cm at any point around the perimeter of the building footprint. Depth categories reflect 90th percentile depth detected per building.
Do my credentials ever expire?
No, your client ID and client secret do not have an expiration date. The token you generate with them does expire after 8 hours. In the case that your credentials are compromised, please let us know as quickly as possible - we will disable them and provision you with a new pair.
Can I use this data in ArcGIS Enterprise?
If your ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online are configured to work together, data shared to your ArcGIS Online group can flow through to Enterprise. Otherwise, Registered Services or Distributed Collaborations can both bring in data from ArcGIS Online (Image Services are not yet supported via Distributed Collaborations). For other Enterprise setups, we'd recommend evaluating our File Delivery API as a more direct integration path.
Can I use ArcGIS Pro for analysis on the shared layers?
Streaming from ArcGIS Online is well-suited for visualization and lightweight analysis. If you're running intensive geospatial analysis in ArcGIS Pro, working with locally downloaded files will be faster.
