For Canada, ICEYE takes into account both the number of buildings within the perimeter and the reported fire status.
Activation is triggered when:
- ≥ 8 buildings are within the fire perimeter, AND
- Fire status is Out of Control or Being Held
Monitoring is triggered when:

≤ 7 buildings are within the fire perimeter, AND

120 buildings are within a 3 km buffer, AND
-
Fire status is Out of Control or Being Held
ICEYE analysis will cease when either of the following conditions is met:
- Fire status becomes Under Control or Out, OR
- 3 days of no perimeter updates and no new VIIRS hotspots
